I heard from a Palace mate that does work for the club that the chairman loved Pardew but the players hated him. Looks like they got their way.

I can't help but like Parcel, if I'm honest. I feel like he really 'got' us as a club, and his transfer business is excellent, but it does always seem to go wonky with him eventually.

Sacking him is one thing, but if I were a palace fan I'd be pretty disillusioned at that statement by the chairman. Saying that a top flight team were going back to kick and rush football is pretty much admitting you only care about the money involved in the game.

Pardew gave an interview after Palace beat Southampton recently where he praised the Chairman for sticking by him.
Pardew then went on to make a remark about other "heavy investors knowledge of the football isn't great" which has probably come back to haunt him today.

His expertise has been in identifying players with talent and a point to prove and then giving them the platform to do so
Once they have his natural arrogance takes hold and he loses them totally, they can't be having him and either switch off or leave
